Box Parking

The box parking is the second test done in the yard.  Box parking is also called "Perpendicular Parking".  It's basically parking in a parking space at Villagio.  You can do it.  The only challenge is that parking in a space on the left side of the parking lot is much easier than parking on the right.  The test requires you to park on the right!!!.
When entering the Box Parking test area there is a row of poles to the left do not hit the poles.
  1. Adjust your mirrors.  (You would have just completed the L-Parking so your right mirror would be aimed at the right tire.)
  2. Drive as close to the poles on the left as you can - without hitting them
  3. There are 6 parking bays.  Each is marked their respective number on a pole in the parking bay.
  4. (The police will tell you which space to park in but I will use the number 2 parking space as an example.) To park in the number 2 space slowly drive towards parking bay number 2.
  5. When the handle of the right passenger door is in line with the sign marked "number 1" make a full lock and drive into the parking space.
  6. As you enter the space you may need to gently steer towards the left and then to the right to straighten the car in the parking space.  Stop safely do not hit the poles in front of you.
  7. Straighten the steering
  8. Put the car in reverse and start reversing.
  9. When the first pole on the right is in line with your right mirror give the steering a half turn.
  10. Continue reversing.
  11. When the right mirror is in line with the last pole on the right give the car a full lock and reverse.  Pay attention to the pole on the left, be careful not to hit it.
  12. Reverse out of the space.  You are not supposed to hit any of the poles behind you once you follow the tips.
  13. When you are out of the parking bay make a double lock to straighten the steering and drive forward.
Other points to note:
  • Be aware of the other persons using the parking bays.
  • When reversing be careful not to hit any of the poles or cars.
  • Constantly check your mirrors.
  • You are not allowed to drive forward to correct the lock so when you are backing out watch the pole on your left taking care not to hit it.  Adjust the steering if you find you are too close.
  • As long as you do not hit the poles you should pass.
